Last week was Hallowe’en, and Dr Steam and the Steam Robot made another appearance, scaring small children. My youngest son dressed up as Harry Potter, and had lots of fun. He wasn’t very scary though.
Well last Saturday he came into my bedroom early in the morning carrying a big pile of cardboard he’d collected and declared that he wanted me to make him a scary mask too. What else could I do?
It’s hard to be scary when you’re only one metre tall, but I had to try. Mostly he seems more like Dick Dasterdly’s sidekick Mutley, and that gave me an idea. What Dr Steam needs is a robot steam dog. Lots of cardboard and a whole packet of hot glue sticks later, here he is.
